Our partnership with HemiData allows us to provide you with a Electronic Medical Records system that can be utilized from any computer that has an Internet connection. Clinical users can access the EMR from the office, home, at the hospital, or while traveling. No additional software is needed to utilize the basic functions. Our system utilizes a Browser interface to communicate with the EMR. All communications are secure and highly encrypted for data security. All communications are SSL encrypted and secured via password. Individual user accounts for each office employee control access to the sections of the patient’s record. Accounts can also be setup for read-only or update access. Now you can be almost anywhere to review or update your patient records. Prescribe medications, review patient histories, review lab results, review drug usage, review or update your schedule.
Scanning New scanned documents and images can be attached to the patients record to keep a complete record of the patient’s history. By scanning a chart or lab data into electronic format and attaching it to the EMR the clinician will see a complete patient record. The decision to convert the existing paper records is an important part of the EMR process. The clinic can decide to include all past records, partial records or to leave the records in their original form. Scanning the records creates a single repository for all of the patient records. The decision to scan the records of the most active patients or scan all patient records but only back in history for a limited time, 1, 2, 3 or more years can help control the costs. Med-Tech can provide your practice with scanning services that can help your practice meet their EMR conversion goals.
Images Many hospitals or other medical facilities provide the clinic with diagnostic images of a patient’s tests results. These images are usually supplied in the form of electronic images on a CD / DVD or some other electronic medium. Our EMR can directly import those images into the patient records. Patient photos can be used by doctors for many things from basic identification up to observing physical changes in the patient over time.
Patient Schedules The scheduling feature of the EMR allows clinicians to create daily patient schedules. This feature allows the staff to schedule appointments, the estimated duration and the priority of the appointment. The scheduling component can also include other activities such as “out of office” time. The doctor can review all appointments for any day by clicking on scheduling and then the date needed.
HL7 Interface Our HL7 Interface allows the our EMR to integrate with other systems. The system is an active listener to HL7 Feeds. From the HL7 Stream, the EMR can acquire patient information automatically as patient data is modified by other systems.
Voice Input The mechanics of creating patient records is very different for each practice, and many times, different for each physician within the practice. The system can accommodate the unique style of each physician and works with different application packages to help each physician in the practice be successful and efficient.
Voice Recognition Our system integrates with the powerful Dragon Voice Recognition application that enables the user to directly dictate to the EMR in real time. While voice recognition can save money, it is not 100%. Our system allows for our transcriptionists to audit and edit your work. The applicability of voice recognition varies on an individual basis. Clinic users can work with voice recognition applications to make significant reductions in their record update time and can also recognize significant cost reductions.
Voice Dictation The system integrates with our central and handheld digital systems to allow the physician to continue to use the same voice techniques that they are presently using. Dictated audio files are routed to priority work queues to ensure timely transcription. Transcribed records are directly entered into the EMR and are available back to the physician and staff members immediately. This seamless process provides instant updates on the patient’s condition. Physicians and staff members no longer spend time looking for patient charts, rather, they can focus on better patient care which leads to lower overall cost.
Drugs & Immunizations The EMR helps clinicians manage the drugs and supplements that are used to manage the patient’s health. The patient record can keep track of prescriptions, over the counter medications as well as other herbal supplements. The EMR simplifies the process of reissuing refill prescriptions.
Histories & Allergies The EMR provides several different categorization capabilities for family, social histories as well as allergies, directives and problems. Each of these can provide the physician with instant access to this important information during the treatment of the patient.
Reference Content We provide clinicians with the ability to upgrade their service to include optional reference content. This content can be used at many stages during the patient encounter, from the evaluation of presenting problems to the additional documentation in the patient’s record. This resource provides the clinician with current reference material as a tool to assist in the patient care cycle.
Lab Data Diagnostic lab data is integrated into the EMR. The lab interface provides the clinician with a way to manage changing lab data over time. The EMR also provides evaluation of normal values, based on the criteria of the test and the demographics of the patient. Values that are out of range are flagged to the physician. Patient lab values are evaluated against published normal reference guidelines.
